I am selling my Fisher Europa 99 Cross-Country Skis made in Austria. These are fiberglass skis with metal edges and are in very good condition. They have Troll bindings with a Telemarker Heel Locator.
My wife and I have been avid downhill skiers, and wanted to cross country ski for something different. Because we skied downhill for many years, we wanted to get a cross-country ski that we could control in various conditions from icy trails to powder slopes.
We each bought the Fisher skis that can be waxed or not, and they have metal edges to have better control in turns and stops on various slopes. We also added something that you don't see on cross-country skis, and that is the Telemarker Heel Locator. A plastic boot spur (tab) is mounted on the heel of the ski boot and the rear heel binding (locator) is mounted on the ski. This has proved to be much better in controlling the skis.
When you're on a trail the heel of the boot moves up and down as normal, but when you get to an open slope or a turn, the heel of the boot can slip into the rear heel mount and make for much easier control of the skis. The Telemarker will aid in turning and is especially good in skiing downhill in adverse snow conditions. It also adds support to the boot by moving some of the turning force to the heel, rather than all at the toe.
The ski boots are leather and come up to your ankle for better support, again we did not want the shorter height boot because we wanted control and support.
I am 5' 9" tall and my skis and poles were measured for my height.
